BIOGRAPHY
Megan Littlehale is a lifetime resident of Northern New Hampshire; home to where her passion grew as an artist. Although eclectic in her use of artistic mediums, creating life-like paintings of nature and animals remain in her heart of hearts. Equally competing is her passion of incorporating nature and abstract into landscapes and seascapes broadening her scope to a new level of wonder with each piece. Megan's use of color is awe-inspiring, reflected in many of her bright and lively creations. True to Megan's love for both wildlife and pets, favoring paintings of dogs, Megan has painted a beautiful real-to-life painting of each of her beloved fur-friends (Gizmo, Lola and Jackson). Over the past few years Megan’s artistic talent has expanded to mediums that are shiny, including metallic paint, glitter and gems to be exact. As Megan explores new roads of art to travel... she will always dream of owning a ceramics studio and creating pieces that would bring her work to a new dimension.
Megan knew at a young age that her life must include art! Seeking to address social and emotional issues through the arts she attended Plymouth State University in 2008, earning a bachelor degree in Art Education, with a minor in psychology and ceramics. She then graduated Lesley University in 2013 with a Master’s degree in Expressive Therapies with a specialization in Art Therapy and Mental Health Counseling. Megan is currently working as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Northern New Hampshire. While continuing to create art as a second parallel labor of love, her plan is to combine the two and have the best of both worlds as she works toward becoming a Registered Art Therapist. Megan recognized, through her own personal adversity, having a visual impairment, the importance the arts can have in contributing to a person's sense of overall health and well-being. Megan sees Art as a solution for connecting the mind, body and spirit in ways that she has a passion to share with her colleagues and her clients alike.
Megan spends her free time creating an array of art pieces through painting, mixed media, sewing and knitting. Each year, since 2009, Megan has exhibited her artwork at the annual fair in the quaint little town of Lancaster, NH. In 2021 she received the President’s Award for one of her animal portraits, and has won numerous first and second place ribbons throughout the years.
